Corvane
The legions are the asset. Corvane has generals with reputations that carry across the continent, which makes them valuable and visible targets. Corvane also holds temples.
Corvane is Undivided, and its human shape is a working convenience rather than a claim of kinship. The people of Ox Marches are governed rather than represented, and the house says as much when it is asked. The tradition is arcane, which at Ox Marches means a college, an archive and a filing habit. It wrote the case law the Accords are now read through.
The holding
the Sixth Stage — the levy that is not a cistern
Badlands above the cavern road's southern stages: barrack rows, a temple gate, mustering ground on hardpan
Hardpan south of the Hundred Shares takes a tent line and a parade without breaking, which is most of why the Sixth Stage sits where it does. Barrack rows, a temple gate and a mustering ground stand on the Sunjara Upland badlands above the cavern road's southern stages, and everything drunk in them is bought by the share and carted down from the cisterns to the north. The corpse road comes up through the stages beneath and halts at the temple gate for stamping. Duskenford is five days north-east over the goat ground, and the southern hardpan route has carried no recorded traffic since 788.

Allies takes this house’s side 2
Vaethril 02 Corvane's soldiers guard Vaethril's cave mouth and the compound above it, paid four times a year. Vaethril keeps no soldiers of its own, so without them the compound has no defence at all.
Thelanor 30 Thelanor's college has trained Corvane's supply officers for three years each since 742, at 1,400 silver a year and free passage for Thelanor's carters. The fee has been paid every year since.
Neutral trades, and no more than that 3
Ashinoha 03 Ashinoha pays Corvane 1,100 silver a year to keep the southern cave routes open to its iron carts. The price has been raised twice in ten years.
Grivane 60 Grivane sends harness ironwork and two siege carriages a year down to Corvane, billed in one currency and paid in another at a rate Corvane's quartermasters set. Grivane's agent has standing orders to accept it.
Dunmoral 72 Corvane keeps the southern stage of the corpse road and takes two marks a body and a tenth of the offerings, all of which goes north because the stamp on the paperwork is Dunmoral's. Corvane has asked three times for a stamp of its own.

Nine names hold a mustering ground, a temple gate and the southern stage of the corpse road. One barley crop in six comes off the Hundred Shares on dates the commissariat sets, before any of that harvest reaches a market, and Umbermere's reeves keep to the dates while filing at the water records office that a mustering ground cannot be charged upon the share; both filings were heard and neither decided. Grivane sends harness ironwork and two siege carriages a year down the cavern roads, invoiced in Falkvald marks and paid in Reach silver at a conversion the quartermasters set. The temple gate takes two marks a body and a tenth of the offerings, remitted north because the stamp on the carriage is Dunmoral's, and Corvane has asked three times for a stamp of its own.

Corvane's barrack rows hold the southern cavern stages and the badlands approaches above Umbermere, which is what the sixth of the crop buys. Nothing has come over the hardpan since 788, and Corvane says so at every renewal.
One barley crop in six goes to the barrack rows on the hardpan before any of Umbermere' harvest reaches a market, delivered on dates Corvane's commissariat sets. Umbermere's reeves keep to the dates.
Umbermere has filed twice at the water records office against the levy, on the ground that a mustering ground is not a cistern and cannot be charged upon the share. Both filings were heard, neither was decided, and the sixth has gone in on time throughout.

Corvane's stage patrols cover the leased cavern mouth at Vaethril and the walled compound above it, paid quarterly in coin. Vaethril declines to hand over the names of anyone renting a stage on a false charter, and the patrols go out regardless.

The temple gate at the Sixth Stage keeps the southern stage of the corpse road and takes two marks a body and a tenth of the offerings, remitted north because the stamp on the carriage is Dunmoral's. Corvane has asked three times to be given a stamp of its own.

Ashinoha pays the Sixth Stage 1,100 silver a year to keep the southern cavern stages open to Amasekan iron carters, which the Sekhemrite records office books as stage rent and the roost towers book as tribute. Corvane raised it twice in the last decade, and each time Ashinoha paid and entered the raise on the seating order roll as a discourtesy.

The plank-road college at Thelanor has taken Corvane' commissariat clerks for three years each since 742, at 1,400 silver a year and a standing exemption at the temple gate for Thelanor's carters. The fee has been paid in every year, including the two in which the houses' companies were on opposite sides of the same contract.

Grivane sends harness ironwork and two siege carriages a year down the cavern roads to the Sixth Stage, invoiced in Falkvald marks and paid in Reach silver at a conversion Corvane's quartermasters set. Grivane's factor at the sixth stage has standing orders to accept it.
Kurozaka's carters say the stage rent rises whenever the Sixth Stage is asked to muster for somebody else, and the roost towers enter the raise as a discourtesy. Said in the Sunjara Upland
